pairing a smooth cup bra with lacy panties.

While having a match set is often fun and attractive it is not always an option. When you are wearing a lightweight t-shirt with jeans, dress pants or a skirt. The shirt calls for a smooth molded cup bra but there are no such restrictions on the bottom half. If you have to wear a plain beige or black bra pair it with colourful bottoms.

Or one could wear a beautiful lace bra and smooth plain panties as the outter wear dictates.

How can you tell if your bra fits?

First thing to do is dump your lingerie drawer onto the bed or nearest surface and try on all your bras.

Are they are too big in the band? Which you can tell if the band is riding up your back, it's loose on the tightest set of hooks or the elastic has no snap left in it.

Are the cups are too small, you are spilling out from the top bottom or sides?  We have compressible flesh and the band needs to be snug to properly support the bust, which will leave indents but that is normal in a properly fitting bra.

Is the bra is pinching, jabbing or uncomfortable in any way?

Return the bras that fit and are comfortable to your drawer.

Your bra should be snug but not painful. Every woman's definition of snug is different but you should be able to flip the straps off and your bra stays up. The underwires should sit at the crease between your breast and body. So that when you lift you arm up the underwire stays in place and your breasts do not fall out the bottom. The straps should have room for one finger width at the shoulder. If the straps are too tight, presumably to get lift, the back will ride up and the cups will sag. the cups should encase your breasts so there is a smooth transition from the bra to your body. Thus avoiding the quadruple boob.

All of these criteria must be met for your bra to be deemed a proper fit. There are many size combinations and styles. you may want to try on a variety and compare the fit.

My experience with online bra measurement guides.

Have you ever though "I am just an odd size"  or "I am just hard to fit"?    I have, because of a scar under one breast from a childhood surgery finding a good fit is challenging.

One of the things I have learned as a professional bra fitter is that the designer, country of origin, fabric and style will affect the size range that will work for a specific body. It is important to be able to try on a few different size combinations to get the right fit.

Here are some online bra size calculators and the results with my measurements, which are 34 rib/underbust and 42 bust. I found it interesting that none of the websites suggested bras that might work in  the specific size they calculated. I have owned bras in the 38-40 band range but they become loose quickly and ride up my back. I used to fit into a C cup so am amazed that a G was even suggested. It actually made me laugh in surprise.

Chantelle 3871 smooth lace t-shirt bra

With molded foam cups and a thin overlay the 3871 has the quality of a smooth T-shirt bra with the look of a sexy lace bra.

The straps are set closer together in the back to help prevent them from slipping off your shoulders. If you have ever found yourself digging for your straps at an inopportune time, like a board meeting, running after the kids or in the grocery store line up,  this bra is for you.

The back band is wide and firm to prevent it from cutting in and for added support. We all have compressible flesh and a bra band that is wide will cut in less so the look of back spillage or back fat is decreased. With Spring in full swing and wardrobes being changed up accordingly this bra will make wearing light weight knits a smooth transition.
